On June 25, 2026, Apple just dropped some massive news, announcing significant price hikes across its product lineup. MacBook and iPad prices have surged by more than 20%, leaving consumers absolutely stunned.

For instance, the MacBook Neo jumped straight from $599 to $699, while the iPad Pro climbed from $999 to $1,199. Apple products on major Chinese e-commerce platforms were instantly swept off the shelves as people panicked about missing out on the old prices or being forced to accept the new, higher ones.

So what’s behind this? Since the second half of 2025, electronics prices have been steadily creeping up, especially for phones and laptops with large storage capacities. The rumor on the street is that this is the butterfly effect of the AI boom—data centers are expanding at a breakneck pace, sending memory prices through the roof. The unit price of DDR5 RAM skyrocketed from $3 to $8, and NAND flash storage more than doubled. Memory giants like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have seen their revenues double, with profits hitting unprecedented highs. On top of that, many vendors have started hoarding inventory to drive prices even higher. Naturally, this price surge isn't limited to Apple; brands like Lenovo and Dell are also raising their prices. Consumers are crying foul, saying they simply can't afford it, and are being forced to delay their purchasing plans.

iPhone prices haven't been adjusted just yet, but that doesn't mean the iPhone 18 will escape the rising costs. With higher storage configurations, it's facing even greater cost pressures. Some predict this storage price surge will last at least through the end of the year. So, here's a piece of advice: either pull the trigger now before prices climb further, or sit tight and wait until next year to make your move!
